London's biggest winter festival in Hyde Park, combining Christmas market chalets with an open-air ice rink, fairground rides, shows and street food.
Winter Wonderland takes over a large part of Hyde Park for around six weeks each winter. Alongside the Christmas market stalls and bars there is a big open-air ice rink, an ice sculpture attraction (the Magical Ice Kingdom), circus and live shows, Santa Land for younger children, and a large fairground with a giant wheel and thrill rides; the organisers count more than 150 rides, attractions and shows.
Entry needs a timed ticket, booked in advance online; the cheapest off-peak slots are on weekday afternoons in November. Rides, the rink and most shows are charged separately, and pre-booking a package or £25 of attractions or meal deals in one go makes entry free.
The event is closed on Christmas Day and gets very busy at weekends and in the run-up to Christmas, so booking ahead is sensible.
