Lincoln Cathedral Christmas Market

A new three-day, ticketed Christmas market held inside Lincoln Cathedral and its grounds, a few years after the city's famous street market came to an end.

Lincoln's long-running city Christmas market, which drew 320,000 visitors over four days in its 40th year in 2022, was then dropped by the city council, and for 2026 Lincoln Cathedral is staging its own, much smaller Christmas market inside the cathedral and its historic grounds. Stalls sell festive gifts and seasonal food, with refreshments on the Dean's Green and in the Chapter House and the cathedral café open.

Entry is by timed-session ticket only: everyone aged 18 months and over needs one, pre-booking is strongly advised, and re-entry isn't allowed. Sessions include evening 'twilight shopping', and the cathedral is also offering Christmas Market roof tours.

The cathedral has step-free and ramped access (some floors are uneven), with accessible toilets in the Cloisters and an adult changing facility in the Visitor Centre. Buggies are best left at home as it will be crowded, bags may be searched, and only assistance dogs are allowed. Lincoln's transport hub is about a 20-minute walk away, and the Steep Hill shuttle bus and Park and Ride run nearby.
