St George's Plateau, outside St George's Hall (opposite Lime Street station), Liverpool, Merseyside · North West England

Liverpool's main city-centre Christmas market on St George's Plateau, which for 2026 is rebuilt around a new outdoor ice rink.
For many years Liverpool's Christmas market has filled St George's Plateau and William Brown Street, in front of the grand St George's Hall and right opposite Lime Street station, with festive cabins, bars, a big wheel and rides.
For 2026 the city council has handed the site to a new operator, Underbelly, which is running it as 'Skate St George's': an outdoor ice rink with a rooftop bar, a Christmas market of local traders, a big wheel, carousel and a Christmas tree maze. Skating sessions are pre-booked and paid; rides are paid on the day by card.
Separately, the council has announced a covered ice rink and rides at Pier Head ('Liverpool Christmas Wonderland') and smaller pop-up markets at Basnett Street and the Cunard Building on selected dates, with those market dates still to be announced.
