The Dark Walk, Hillsborough Fort, Hillsborough, County Down · Northern Ireland

A two-day council-run Christmas market of local makers and food producers lining the tree-lined Dark Walk beside Hillsborough Fort.
Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council's market in Royal Hillsborough sets up its stalls along The Dark Walk, the avenue beside 17th-century Hillsborough Fort in the Georgian village. The council lists over 60 artisan traders selling food and drink, art, crafts, homewares and beauty products.
Food stalls in past years have included local gin, rum and whiskey, cheese and charcuterie, festive bakes and preserves, alongside hot drinks and street food. Gift stalls cover ceramics and Christmas ornaments, prints and cards, jewellery and home fragrance. Choirs and local musicians perform, and Santa and Mrs Claus are billed to visit.
Entry is free. It runs on a Friday afternoon into the evening and on the Saturday. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome, and the council lists the event as accessible. Some traders may take cash only.
