A four-day Victorian-themed Christmas street fair in Worcester city centre, with almost 200 stalls, a funfair and street entertainers.
Worcester's Victorian Christmas Fayre began in 1992 with traders on New Street and Friar Street and now spreads across the historic city centre for four days in early December. The organisers expect almost 200 stalls, selling local arts and crafts, festive gifts and a wide range of street food, with stallholders in Victorian dress and wooden chalets among the stalls.
There is a traditional funfair with a Galloper carousel, Victorian characters in 'Gin Lane', stilt walkers, stages with live music, carols and school choirs, and buskers. The council says the event draws over 125,000 visitors across the four days.
Entry is free. City-centre car parks get very busy, so the organisers recommend the Park & Ride or the train: Foregate Street station is about 0.3 miles from the Fayre and Shrub Hill about 0.6 miles. Road closures apply during opening hours.
