A German-inspired Christmas market of more than 100 chalets on Cathedral Green, set right in front of Exeter Cathedral.

Exeter's Christmas market still runs: it fills Cathedral Green with more than a hundred wooden chalets laid out along winding, fairy-lit paths in front of the cathedral's west front. The organisers describe it as inspired by German Christmas markets, with a strong showing of West Country food, drink and handmade gifts alongside street food and themed bars.

During the market the cathedral offers entry by donation, so it is easy to combine a browse of the stalls with a look inside the building, though sightseeing pauses during services.

The site has slopes, some grass areas and cobbled streets around it; ramps are added to the main steps on the West Front and four of the five entrances are step-free, but not every chalet is wheelchair-accessible. Park & Ride is recommended for drivers (the Matford service does not run on Sundays), and both Exeter Central and Exeter St Davids stations are within walking distance.
