A weekend Christmas fair in the small Cumbrian market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, with a chalet village in the Market Square, indoor markets and a Friday-evening lights switch-on.
Kirkby Lonsdale, a market town in the Lune Valley between the Lakes and the Dales, holds its Christmas Fair over the first weekend of December. A Christmas chalet village sets up in the Market Square, and indoor Christmas markets run in Lunesdale Hall, St Mary's Church and the Methodist Hall over the weekend.
Friday evening brings the Christmas lights switch-on with Father Christmas in the Market Square, a parade and festive entertainment in venues around the town. Santa's grotto, pop-up cafes and the town's independent shops, inns and cafes round off the weekend.
