Newcastle's city-centre Christmas market of mostly local traders around Grey's Monument, with a family Christmas Village on Old Eldon Square.

Newcastle's Christmas market lines Grey Street and Grainger Street and wraps around Grey's Monument, with more stalls on Nelson Street. For 2026 the organisers promise over 70 traders, with more than 86% based within 20 miles of the city centre, selling gifts, art, jewellery, fashion, local food and drink and hot street food. Several stalls are run by traders from the Victorian Grainger Market nearby.

The Moosenwirt alpine bar returns to Grey Street and the 'North Pole' igloo pods around the Monument can be booked for groups. On Old Eldon Square the Christmas Village offers Santa Stories, Mrs Claus' Bakery, stage shows, a vintage carousel and a Ferris wheel (22 metres high in 2026).

The market is free to wander and the city centre is easy to reach by Metro, train and bus.
