Small festive markets of fair-trade goods, handmade gifts and gourmet food on Stroud's Cornhill, run by the team behind the town's farmers' market.

Stroud's Christmas markets are run by Fresh-n-Local, the organisers of the town's well-known farmers' market, in the Cornhill Market Square. They are not farmers' markets: the focus is on fairly traded products, handmade gifts and gourmet food and drink from local makers and traders.

The season starts with the Goodwill Evening market on the first Friday of December (its 25th year in 2026), with up to 35 canopied stalls under festive lighting, a café, hot food, mulled wine and cider while the town's shops stay open late. Then, on the last weekdays before Christmas, the 'Finish your Christmas shopping in Stroud' markets run for three days.

Both are modest in size, so treat them as part of a trip to Stroud's independent shops rather than a destination market on their own.
