Wells City Council's annual Christmas market, with over 100 stalls spread between the Market Place and the Cathedral Green in England's smallest city.
Wells Christmas Market is the centrepiece of the city council's Christmas at Wells programme. Stalls spread across the Market Place outside the town hall and onto the Cathedral Green in front of Wells Cathedral, so you shop with the cathedral's west front as a backdrop.
In 2025 there were more than 100 stalls selling seasonal gifts, local food and drink and festive treats, with live music and entertainment in both areas. For 2026 the council has extended it from a single Saturday to two days.
The bus station is about five minutes' walk from the Market Place, with regular buses from Bath and Bristol; the nearest railway stations are Bath Spa, Bristol Temple Meads and Castle Cary.
